Family-Friendly Games Make a Comeback

Some may think they're missing out on the most current games if they choose to avoid games that involve violence, bad language and sexuality. However, not only do they benefit immensely from following God's instructions in any case, but right now they can also enjoy a growing field of gaming.

Gamedaily.com reported in early April 2008 that with the Nintendo Wii and DS systems there is a growing demand for family-friendly casual gaming.

Sarah Anderson, 2K Games senior vice president of marketing, cited a recent consumer survey she conducted. When gamers were asked what they wanted most in a game, their top answer was "fun." "I've never seen that before," Anderson says. Previously, the top answers were "graphics" and "realism."

Gamedaily.com also reported on April 24, 2008, that Nintendo's fiscal year ended with soaring sales (over $16 billion) and profits (nearly $4.7 billion). Those represent 73 percent and 47 percent increases over the previous year.
