The Good News about Jerusalem
I was pleasantly surprised to see The Good News focus on Jerusalem. How wonderful! Jeremiah says for us to "let Jerusalem come into your minds" (Jeremiah 51:50). You have helped us to remember Jerusalem and we pray that she fulfills her awesome potential.

It was fantastic to see God's prophecies about Jerusalem announced in the latest Good News article, followed up by "Israel's Amazing Story."

"Could Jesus Be Elected President?"
Could Jesus be elected president? Certainly. Though I don't question the author's right to presume otherwise, I do question some of the other presumptions that were asserted. That His message appears to be lost on today's culture is more likely a reflection of today's messengers than on our response to it. Those elected to the office of president of our nation are charged to serve the Constitution, not rewrite it. What the author has posed is not a run for the presidency, but an overthrow of our current system followed by the installation of a theocracy.
Americans want freedom from religion. If the option to choose any, all or none is not afforded, the freedom itself is an illusion. Both the integrity of our national principles and the central tenet of Christianity require a free choice be afforded to each individual. However steadfast any one of us may be that our beliefs are the truth, if we are not vigilant in guarding our neighbor's right to freely arrive at theirs, our claim of our religious freedom is a fraud.

The answer to the dilemma is in the timing. The concluding part of the article clearly showed that Jesus Christ will be ruling the world from Jerusalem in the age to come. But for the present His Kingdom is not of this world (John 18:36)—and not surprisingly His gospel message has largely been rejected, especially by the ruling intelligentsia.
