"The Bible Was Right After All"

I want to thank you for the article "The Bible Was Right After All" in the July-August issue. It is rare to see a positive article on the big bang theory by a conservative Christian publication. Many make the mistake of assuming that the big bang is weak or anti-biblical and lump it into the category of naturalistic evolution. Thanks for not making that mistake.

"Noah's Ark: Was It Possible?"

Recently I read an article about Noah's Ark in The Good News. I'm afraid it gave rise to more questions than answers. The author makes the claim that "The ark did not need to carry every species, only every biblical kind." He goes on to describe how hundreds of varieties of domestic pigeons derived from the rock pigeon. Isn't this inadvertently supporting the evolutionary theory?

Within the genetic code for each "kind," as the term is used in Genesis 1, great variety is possible. Consider the enormous variety unlocked in the selective breeding of dogs. This is not Darwinian evolution, but a phenomenon that God built into each distinct species. Remember dogs cannot breed with cats.Within each distinct species is the capacity for great variety, and it is to this that the author referred.

Growing in knowledge and truth

My wife and I, both in our 50s, believe that there has to be a superior force. We do not believe that things just evolved. Since receiving your magazine I have learned much with each issue. So much of the contents make perfect sense allowing for history as we know it. Neither my wife nor I are denominational. However, we both accept Christianity as we have learned it over the years. I would like to be a better human being and a better Christian.
